Last year’s ‘American Idol’ runner-up says Miley Cyrus was ‘really cool to hang out with.’ By Jocelyn Vena David Archuleta Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage David Archuleta , last year’s “American Idol” runner-up , will be guest starring on Miley Cyrus ‘ hit Disney show, “Hannah Montana,” sometime in the near future. Although the details surrounding his appearance — including when it will air — aren’t concrete, he did share with his fans how enthusiastic he is about the opportunity. Archuleta, who already filmed his guest stint, revealed on his blog that at first he was nervous to make an appearance on the show. “It was another thing I was really nervous about and wasn’t really sure about at first,” he said of the experience.
“Miley was a cool person to hang out with,” Archuleta said, adding that “once I got there I had a great time! Everyone there was fun. She has a lot of energy and is really funny haha. Getting to watch how they rehearsed the scenes for the show was really cool too.” Although Archuleta admitted that he’s never watched “Hannah Montana” before, he described the scenes he got to see taped as “funny.” Archuleta previously did a guest spot on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly,” starring Miranda Cosgrove, where he appeared as himself. No word if he’s playing himself on “Hannah Montana” as well. “I think it’ll be fun to see how the whole show runs [all together], because it was just cool to see how great of actors the other kids were,” he said. Other than racking up cameo appearances on tween comedies, Archuleta will also be keeping busy this spring on a European tour. Related Artists David Archuleta Miley Cyrus

It’ll also have big-name guests, including Taylor Swift, Mitchel Musso reveals. By Larry Carroll Mitchel Musso Photo: MTV News HOLLYWOOD — Disney’s unstoppable juggernaut hit “Hannah Montana” is moving to the big screen, and the finish line is getting closer for the April 10 release. Now, one of Miley Cyrus’ co-stars is spilling details on the sweet scenes, secret guest stars and star-worthy acting that will make the flick much different from the TV show.
“We are so not even supposed to talk about it,” grinned Mitchel Musso, who plays Cyrus’ funny friend Oliver (and Mike) in both the show and movie versions of “Montana,” when we caught up with him this week on the red carpet for the premiere of the new Jonas Brothers movie. “But, there are some very big people.” The first of these top-secret guest stars also makes an appearance in “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.”
“Taylor Swift is in the movie,” the 17-year-old Musso revealed. “She’s hilarious, and unbelievably talented.” “I hate hiding it,” Musso said, letting it slip that the other big names showing up in “Hannah Montana: The Movie” aren’t merely Disney talents. “I’m saying big, feature-film stars and big musicians.” Everyone from Tyra Banks to Vanessa Williams to Dolly Parton is rumored to be in the cast (and those three are even listed on the flick’s IMDb page). As for his favorite scene in the movie, the young comedic actor said he’ll never forget the first day he was on the set. “I think my favorite scene was when I blow up a cake all over the place,” he grinned. “Lily [played by Emily Osment], Miley’s best friend, has this 5-foot-tall cake. Of course, it’s not a real bomb. But I hadn’t seen the cast in a year-and-a-half, and the first day of filming was just watching them get covered in cake from me.
“I was just watching it, all squeaky clean,” he laughed. “They had these 3-foot-wide cannons, filled with ice cream and cake and stuff to shoot all over them! It was hilarious. I’m sorry Miley and Emily and Billy Ray!” When it isn’t soaking the cast in sweets, however, “Hannah Montana: The Movie” will aim to show a more real side of Miley’s life — and her relationship with her home state of Tennessee, where much of the movie was filmed. “It has a lot more drama,” Musso explained. “There’s a lot of sentimental things [in the script] that came from her heart and Billy Ray’s heart, because that’s where they live. They shot in all the areas they used to hang out in. “Miley doesn’t want to be Hannah Montana,” he said of the film’s plot. “She wants to go back [home] and be her own thing, and falls in love with a boy there and doesn’t want to leave. “It’s a little bit more mature, but still very family friendly,”
Musso said of the biggest differences between the “Hannah Montana” show and the upcoming movie. “The new movie, first of all, you’re going to get a lot of different camera angles; it’s going to look like a different thing. In the [TV show], we only have one or two camera angles, so we film over and over again. In the movie, it’s more us. Not so much energy, more like real people. “I’ve seen it, it’s awesome,” Musso revealed. “I can’t wait for it to premiere.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Hannah Montana Movie Sure to Please Miley Fans

With Hannah Montana: The Movie previews hitting theater screens, Miley Cyrus fans can barely contain their excitement. The film, set to be released in April, follows along the same premise as the television show. Featuring both Hannah Montana and Miley Stewart as the main characters, the plot centers around Hannah’s fame overdose. To put her reality back in check, Miley’s father (played of course by her biological father, Billy Ray Cyrus) decides to take her on an extended visit to her Tennessee hometown.
At first glance, it appears as though the spoiled Hannah can’t possibly get comfortable outside the city. However, as the journey progresses, Miley realizes that farm life is not so bad and reconnects with two good friends, played by Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso. Within the small town of Crowley Corners, both Miley and her dad both become wrapped up in personal relationships, making it even harder for Miley to choose the best path.
Faced with a decision, Miley realizes that she loves certain parts of both lives. Helping her to reach that conclusion is a Crowley Corner resident, who wants to expose Miley’s secret identity as Hannah and put a stop to her dual life. The split personality continues on the accompanying soundtrack, which features seven tracks by Hannah Montana and five credited to Miley Cyrus, including a duet with her father called “Butterfly Fly Away”. Billy Ray also recorded a song of his own for the CD, in addition to tracks provided by Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift.
Aside from a famous track list, rumors have been circulating that a few celebrity appearances are in the works. In a particularly entertaining scene, Hannah battles Tyra Banks for a pair of shoes, with Vanessa L. Williams, Margo Martindale, and Barry Bostwick all playing roles in the film. Fans will be surprised to learn that Aunt Dolly will not be appearing on the big screen, despite the fact that many sources claimed Dolly Parton would be invited to take part. Aunt Dolly has since confirmed that although the producers asked her to join in, her character was not written into the script.
Hannah Montana: How the Television Series Began

When Miley Cyrus first took on the role of Hannah Montana, little did she know that a goldmine was waiting to be discovered. Even though the television show began production in 2006, its popularity doesn’t appear to be slipping anytime soon. With Hannah Montana clothing, games, and toys taking over department store shelves, the Disney Channel series is everywhere you turn.
The show focuses on the life of Miley Stewart, an ordinary girl who leads an extraordinary life. In her off time, Miley dons a blonde wig and morphs into pop sensation Hannah Montana, keeping her second identity a secret from the general public. The concept is partially credited to Michael Poryes, creator of That’s So Raven, the Disney show that put Raven Symone on the map.
In fact, Hannah Montana was based loosely on a That’s So Raven episode, featuring a young actor who struggled to keep two very different lives in check. Despite the fact that a That’s So Raven episode inspired the premise of the series, in 2007, a writer came forward with a claim that he was the real brains behind the phenomenon.
Oddly enough, Miley Cyrus originally chased after the role of Lilly and was instead awarded the job as Hannah Montana. Although Zoe and Chloe were chosen as two possible names for the lead character, her moniker was later changed to “Miley”. Regardless of the first name modifications, the last name “Stewart” went ahead as planned.
Hannah Montana is currently in its third year of production and boasts a huge line of clothing and merchandise. By early 2008, the show’s marketing efforts truly began to pay off, sparking a huge meeting of Disney executives to take place in an effort to define future tactics. As if the Hannah Montana explosion has not been lucrative to date, the movie version of the television show is set to be released in April. With the movie sure to attract Miley Cyrus fans of all ages, it could prove to be a very profitable business decision for Disney.
