‘This teen queen landed, and then she blasted off,’ Cattrall tells MTV News about Miley’s cameo. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Photo: Marcel Thomas/ FilmMagic When “Sex and the City” fans found out Miley Cyrus would be making a cameo as herself in the upcoming sequel, they wanted every detail about the Disney princess’ appearance in the film, opening May 27. Well, Samantha Jones herself, Kim Cattrall, said Cyrus was a professional beyond her years. “She flew in, and she was literally there for, like, three or four hours,” Cattrall told MTV News. “So then she was gone again. It was like this teen queen landed, and then she blasted off, because she’s of a certain age, and she can only work certain hours. And, of course, we were there until 4 in the morning.” Despite her blink-and-you-might-miss-it time on the set, Cattrall said Cyrus was thrilled to be working with the “SATC” ladies. “It was a fun scene to do, and she was up for it,” Cattrall said. “She was very sweet, and she was so excited by the fact that she was a part of this, and that was exciting for us. I mean, all of our guest stars — Liza Minnelli, Pen?lope Cruz and Miley — it really adds a couple more sparkles.” Like Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker said Cyrus showed up and did her job incredibly well. “She’s a beautiful young lady and very self-possessed,” she said. “I literally was not in the scene with her. I was in the scene, but we were not [onscreen] together. But she was lovely and on time and prompt and professional, very sweet. She worked two hours, and she was in and out. ‘If you look on the Internet, you’ll see other girls that I hang out with,’ Bieber tells Ellen DeGeneres. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: Michael Loccisano/ Getty Images Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were spotted getting sushi together in Hollywood. The video had many fans wondering if Cyrus, who once claimed Kurt Cobain was more her type than Bieber, and Bieber were the newest item on the Young Hollywood block. So when Bieber stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week to tape an episode airing on Monday, the hot-button discussion was his dinner with Cyrus. The issue was initially brought up when DeGeneres asked Bieber if he had a girlfriend. His response? “Not really. Like, I’m dating around, hanging out with girls, but not really dating.” “Like hanging around with Miley Cyrus?” DeGeneres asked. Bieber, however, kept his response general. “Just like hanging around with people … just hanging out. Yeah, and just people …” he said, adding that if fans really do their research, they can see he’s been spending his time with lots of girls. “If you look on the Internet, you’ll see other girls that I hang out with,” he explained. When the duo wasn’t talking girls, Bieber’s famous hair was also brought up. And the teen star explained that his coif is actually quite easy to maintain. “It all comes together. Like five minutes. Like, seriously,” he said. “People are always like, ‘Yeah, right.’ I get out of the shower, I blow-dry it and then it’s done in like five minutes.” But even though Bieber boasts of his low-maintenance ‘do, he’s very protective of it. When DeGeneres tried to cut his hair, Bieber quickly moved away, saying, “Hey! Hey!” Do you think Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus would make a good couple? Let us know in the comments below! ‘Amazing’ director and choreographer helped come up with concept, Cyrus tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by James Lacsina Photo: MTV News Miley Cyrus might have taken some major strides toward her post-Disney career with the sexed-up video for “Can’t Be Tamed,” but the singer didn’t do it alone. When it came time to create a concept for the slick clip — for the title song from her upcoming June album — her director and choreographer helped the star get creative. “I worked with Robert Hales, who is an amazing director,” she raved to MTV News about Hales, who has also worked with Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers and Justin Timberlake. “And again, I didn’t look at any of his work he’s done previously. I don’t even know really what he’s done previously.” Instead, the two focused on what they could do now that Cyrus is beginning to plot out life after “Hannah Montana.” “I just know that when we talked and what I said, he got excited and envisioned it the way I did,” Cyrus said. “And that’s what I wanted. I wanted someone that would get excited about it, and he was. So it was awesome. My choreographer, Jamal [Sims], also helped me come up with the concept. … I definitely am not going to take full credit.” The result of her collaboration is a clip that, according to Miley , can’t be compared to previous music videos. “I made a big point to everyone that I didn’t want anyone else to watch a music video and show me and say, ‘This is what I think we should do,’ ” she said. “I don’t think it looks like any other music video. I think if we would have looked at another music video or listened to another song or looked at a different artist, it could have easily [been influenced].” What do you think of Miley’s moves in the “Can’t Be Tamed” video? Singer/actress has the last season of ‘Hannah Montana,’ a new movie and more music on the horizon. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by James Lacsina Miley Cyrus Photo: MTV News While Miley Cyrus’ new album, Can’t Be Tamed, doesn’t drop until June 22, the singer/actress is still looking ahead to what’s next. “I think my fans will be excited to know they’ve got more to look forward to,” said Cyrus, who just released a clip for the album’s title track . “It’s not just gonna be [this]. We’ve got another season of the show ['Hannah Montana'] , which I think people are excited about that. I’m working on a movie this summer.” Miley recently announced plans to take a break from music and focus on her acting career, but she isn’t planning to abandon it altogether. “I think [my fans have] a lot to look forward to in music as well,” she teased. For right now, Miley fans can enjoy her spicy new song and video, which she says got full approval from her parents. “My mom was on set,” she said of the edgy video. “And my dad loves it, because I think my dad was thinking I was a little crazy as I was writing it. When you see it, they were so proud of the treatment I came up with.” Plus, she thinks the video is pretty spot-on to who she is as a person. “I think it definitely shows a change of what people remember me as, but it’s not trying to not be me,” Cyrus said. “I didn’t want to be just a character. I wanted to be myself and just in a bird-like form in the way I dressed.” What do you think Miley should do next? Tell us in the comments! Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes will also perform during Nashville Rising show June 22. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus Photo: Michael Becker / FOX Taylor Swift donated $500,000 to Nashville flood relief last week, and the country superstar is continuing to do her part by lending her talents to Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery on June 22. The event will be hosted by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, with funds helping Nashville recover from last week’s devastating floods. Swift will be joined by fellow teen queen Miley Cyrus, as well as country stars like Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and more names to come, People reports. The June show is set to take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Funds will go to the Community Foundation, which provides philanthropic services in Middle Tennessee. “The damage that we’ve seen to people’s homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable,” McGraw and Hill said in a statement. “But we’ve seen the spirit of our community firsthand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help. We all need to continue to support those in need in any way that we can, and for that reason, we could not be more appreciative to all of the artists, the companies and the people behind the scenes who collectively will make June 22 a truly special night.” Ke$ha will hold her own benefit concert on June 16 at the Limelight entertainment venue in Nashville. “Nashville helped shape me as an artist and as a person, and my love for this city is beyond words,” she said. “I will continue to do anything I can to help rebuild this city and support the families and animals who have been affected by this tragedy.” Share your well-wishes for the people affected by the Nashville floods in the comments. Miley Cyrus Says ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ Is Unlike ‘Any Other Music Video’

‘I see videos all the time that I’m just like, ‘Yeah, it’s a great video, but I’ve seen it before,’ ‘ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by James Lacsina Miley Cyrus Photo: MTV News Some may look at Miley Cyrus’ new “Can’t Be Tamed” video and be reminded of a time when Britney Spears left her teenage, bubblegum image behind in favor of a sexier, more grown-up identity. Seeing Cyrus dance around a museum breaking windows, getting cozy with her dancers and wearing a barely there bird costume lets her fans know she’s serious about making the transition to adulthood. But Cyrus insisted that she wasn’t following some sort of adolescent-pop-star handbook when making the video — the ideas were all her own. “I made a big point to everyone that I didn’t want anyone else to watch a music video and show me and say, ‘This is what I think we should do,’ ” she told MTV News of the clip for her Can’t Be Tamed title track. “I don’t think it looks like any other music video. I think if we would have looked at another music video or listened to another song or looked at a different artist, it could have easily [been influenced].” Cyrus said she didn’t want her video to be a cookie-cutter one, like so many she sees on a daily basis, no matter how good the quality. “I see videos all the time that I’m just like, ‘Yeah, it’s a great video, but I’ve seen it before,’ ” she said. Can’t Be Tamed is due June 22. Do you think the video is different? Tell us in the comments! ‘What you see in me is the same since I was 11-years-old on ‘Hannah Montana,’ ‘ she explains. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by James Lacsina Miley Cyrus Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Miley Cyrus’ latest music video, “Can’t Be Tamed,” shows the Disney star leaving her Hannah Montana wig and image in the dust in favor of wings, skin-hugging outfits and sexy dance moves. As she dances in her exotic-bird getup, Cyrus continues to show that while she may not be a woman just yet, she’s not a girl anymore either. “I think it definitely shows a change of what people remember me as, but it’s not trying to not be me,” Cyrus told MTV News about the first video off her new album, Can’t Be Tamed, due out in June. “I didn’t want to be just a character. I wanted to be myself and just in a bird-like form in the way I dressed.” And while Cyrus is trying to appear more mature in the darker-themed video, directed by Robert Hales, she isn’t planning on becoming unrecognizable to her original fans. “I think that’s why the video is so unique,” she offered. “The lighting is different, the outfit may be different, but what you see in me is the same since I was 11-years-old on ‘Hannah Montana.’ ” Miley thinks that fans will look at the clip and say, “There’s the smile we know her for. … These are things that she does.” What do you think of Miley’s artistic evolution? ‘It’s so cool so much fun to dance with all your friends,’ she says of her sexy new clip. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus in her “Can’t Be Tamed” video Photo: Hollywood On Tuesday, Miley Cyrus’ sexy, dark clip for new single “Can’t Be Tamed” premiered and made one thing clear: This isn’t Hannah Montana anymore. The gothic-tinged video sees Cyrus as a bird-girl in a museum who breaks free and goes on a romp with her dancers by her side. The singer sat down with MTV News to give fans the inside scoop on the video, frame by frame. “That’s one of my favorite outfits with the cage around, with the big hair. I think it looks so cool. It’s so different,” she said about the opening shot of the Robert Hales-directed video. “I think this looks really cool because of the lighting and how it looks eerie, not creepy necessarily, but there’s kind of a creepy vibe about it. I think it’s very dramatic, even the lighting and the sound effects. I like how there’s a lot of drama as soon as it comes on. “The wings are so cool. The wings are amazing,” she continued about her bird costume in the clip. “I love the wings and how different they are. I don’t think there’s a lot of videos that have stuff like that.” Once the music kicks in, Cyrus seductively dances in her cage, then breaks free and slinks through the museum with some very sexy dancers. “This all is a set so everything is real, except the wings. The wings that I have on that are the little ones there, but the big ones are just added,” she explained. “The choreography I loved, the way it’s almost kind of like ‘Thriller,’ where everyone wants to learn the dance. I think that’s pretty cool. They’re such unique moves, and it goes along with the song. It’s very birdlike. The lighting sells the edginess of it, but the moves are just so memorable, I think. “And then I like when it goes to harder part, which is the metal,” she continued. “I love the big peacock feathers. The lighting it makes it beautiful too, not just all dark.” Cyrus soon is dancing very intimately with male and female dancers, which she said was “freestyle in the dark where they had one small light. We freestyled and danced around. The lighting is so amazing in this video. It’s so cool, so much fun to dance with all your friends. I love the way it’s slow-mo, and I can see all my friends’ faces. “I actually had a completely different [costume],” she said. “And that morning, creatively, I wasn’t feeling the other one, so we made this one right there in the morning, and we added pieces throughout the day … more leather and more feathers. I think it’s really fun and kept changing the look.” Miley’s new album, also called Can’t Be Tamed, is due out June 22.
