Disney star is considering a role in the remake of the French mother-daughter comedy. By Eric Ditzian Miley Cyrus Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Miley Cyrus might just have found her next big-screen project in “LOL: Laughing Out Loud.” According to a report in Variety , the 17-year-old Disney star is in talks to join the English-language remake of the French original, with Demi Moore likely to play her mother. The film will follow Cyrus as a 15-year-old who is cast off by her boyfriend and decides to pursue his best friend. Meanwhile, the teen’s 40-year-old mother (the 47-year-old Moore) is divorced and finding it difficult to restart her life as a single woman struggling to maintain a civil relationship with her daughter. The original “LOL,” starring Sophie Marceau, hit theaters in 2008 and went on to gross over $20 million, according to Variety. Lisa Azuelos, who wrote and directed the original, will also write and direct the new version. With Cyrus just beginning production on the fourth and final season of “Hannah Montana,” the move to “LOL” would signal yet another incremental step away from the Disney universe for the teen star. In April, in what is perhaps her most mature role to date, Cyrus will star in the drama “The Last Song” opposite newcomer Liam Hemsworth. She also has a cameo in the upcoming “Sex and the City” sequel, due out in May. Cyrus has also been verbally expressing a more adult worldview recently, one that is beginning to be evident in her career decisions as well. “My job is to be a role model , and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent,” she says in the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar . “My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.” Related Artists Miley Cyrus

Paula Abdul, Miley Cyrus And More Golden Globes Fashion Misses

We take a look back at the worst Globes fashion of the past decade. By Jocelyn Vena Paula Abdul Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Celebrities always want to stand out on the Golden Globes red carpet. Sometimes they look amazing , and sometimes they turn up in some questionable outfits. With the Globes set to go live on Sunday, it’s only a matter of time before we find out who will have the biggest fashion misses on the red carpet. In the meantime, MTV News looks back on some of the biggest fashion mishaps of the past decade. Lara Flynn Boyle in 2003 Some little girls want to grow up to be ballerinas, but very few grown women dress in full-on ballet attire. Boyle did at the 2003 Golden Globes, wearing a bubble-gum-pink tutu and pointe-shoe-inspired heels. Beyonc? in 2003 Beyonc?’s typically glittery style was abandoned in 2003 when she showed up to the Globes looking like she missed the prom. Her white dress with tutu skirt and floral embellishment went from bad to worse. Diane Kruger in 2005 What an inglourious fashion mistake! The actress looked like she was attending a toga party, not the Globes. She did get one thing right, though: the color — if you consider wearing a golden toga getting something right. Paula Abdul in 2005 Long before she left “American Idol,” Abdul hit the Golden Globes carpet in an ill-fitting, ice-princess number. The ill-fitting bust line and wacky hemline were only outdone by the dress’ tacky gold-glitter color. Reese Witherspoon in 2006 The petite Witherspoon had a good idea, in theory, to rock a cute little cocktail dress to the show. She went wrong in the dress’ fit: The bust was cut off at a weird spot, making her chest look both flat and fat. Johnny Depp in 2006 Johnny Depp has always been gypsy chic, but in 2006, long before he starred in “Public Enemies,” he attempted gangster chic and failed. The severe red-and-black color palette was only matched by his suit’s loose fit and a very scruffy goatee. Cameron Diaz in 2007 Diaz’s white, tiered gown almost worked, if not for the superfluous detailing, like the single strap and that bow. Plus, the dark hair is a bit much for the typically blond Diaz. Pen?lope Cruz in 2007 Black apparently isn’t always simple when it comes to fashion. Cruz’s over-the-top creation in 2007 almost overwhelmed the star with its full skirt and wild-west style. Miley Cyrus in 2009 Apparently suffering from Cruz’s wild-west syndrome, Cyrus looked like she took Cruz’s frock, bleached it white and put a lot of glitter on it. Ren?e Zellweger in 2009 Zellweger, perhaps jumping on the then-burgeoning vampire craze, wore a dress that was sheer on top and very heavy heavy on the bottom. ‘Hannah Montana’ To End After Fourth Season

Miley Cyrus will shoot her final season of the show starting this month. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana Photo: Disney Channel Season four of Miley Cyrus ‘ hit Disney series, “Hannah Montana,” will be the show’s last. Rumors of the show’s curtain call have been swirling for about a year now, and on Friday (January 8), a rep for Disney confirmed the upcoming finale to MTV News. “You never know in this business … but right now, we’re scheduled to wrap after shooting this new batch of episodes,” Disney Channel Worldwide programming exec Adam Bonnett said in a statement. “The [new] episodes will continue to roll out at least over a full year.” Hannah Montana, America’s Sweetheart Production on the fourth season of the show, which debuted on the Disney Channel in 2006, will begin January 18 and continue throughout the summer, with breaks scheduled around Cyrus promoting her film “The Last Song” in April. The season is set to kick off in the spring, according to Bonnett. The season-three finale, called “Is Miley Saying Goodbye?,” is set to air as a one-hour special in mid-March, setting up the story line for the fourth season. Bonnett said it will be “a big one-hour event where we find out what Miley Stewart’s decision is going to be.” In season four, Cyrus’ character, Miley Stewart, will struggle with her dual lives as a pop star and as a regular girl. It’s a similar situation to the one her character faced in the 2009 flick “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” “It’s one of the things she’s been wrestling with for months — whether it’s time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl,” Bonnett said. The New York Post reported that Ray Liotta and “Two and a Half Men” teen star Angus T.? Jones are set to appear on the show this season. “Ray Liotta will play a role that no one would ever expect him to play in a teen sitcom,” Bonnett hinted. In an interview for the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Cyrus expressed her interest in seeking out more mature roles and noted that, although she’s a role model, she doesn’t feel the need to be her fans’ parent. “Everything is so dramatic in the world,” she said. “My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent. My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish.
