Favorite Female Singer winner says she’s shouldn’t be embarrassed by her emotional moment. By Larry Carroll Miley Cyrus Photo: MTV News BEVERLY HILLS, California — On Saturday, a teary Miley Cyrus was overcome by emotion while accepting her Favorite Female Singer” statuette at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards . And while fans debate whether the “Hannah Montana” star was too real, too fake or a bit of both worlds, Miley has a message to friends and foes alike: That’s the way she is, take it or leave it. “I was a little embarrassed,” she admitted to us on Monday of her misty-eyed speech. “But then again, I shouldn’t be! “It meant something to me,” the star of the upcoming “Hannah Montana: The Movie” explained. “Because it’s from the kids, and the kids are more important than anything else in the world. So it made me happy.” And so, when Dwayne Johnson announced that she had won the award, Miley said the tears began to flow. “Honestly, I didn’t think I was going to win it,” she remembered of her thoughts at the time. “It just made my day that I did. It means a lot to me.” Two days after she took the award home, in fact, Cyrus was still eager to talk about it. “Do you know that at the end of the Kids’ Choice Award is a kaleidoscope?” she marveled. “If you look through the end of the Kids’ Choice Award, there’s a kaleidoscope. True story — it really is! “[And] it’s voted on by the kids, which I like. It’s just a cool award,” the 16-year-old singer/actress went on. “I don’t know of any other award that is like that. It’s a very unique award.” And so, to the haters who think her tears were over-the-top, she was still defiant. “Embarrassing? No, I’m not embarrassed,” she said. “I probably would be, but I couldn’t help it. I was just really excited.” Related Videos Pete Wentz, Jonas Brothers And More News From The Kids’ Choice Awards Related Photos Backstage With Jonas, Miley And More At The Kids’ Choice Awards The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Cosgrove, More Arrive At 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards Related Artists Miley Cyrus

The teen says one movie is enough for her popular TV character. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage Although the film hasn’t even opened yet, Miley Cyrus is already pretty sure there will be only be one “Hannah Montana” movie in her life. The Kids’ Choice Award-winning 16-year-old, who is currently promoting “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” doesn’t feel it’s necessary to bring the character back to the big screen for a sequel. “I feel like this is a TV show, and we got really lucky with having the material to make one movie,” the actress/singer said Monday, reports UsMagazine.com . “To do another one, I feel like it takes away the reality of it all.” Cyrus isn’t ruling out the possibility to continue the role on the small screen, however. In fact, once season three ends, she said she hopes that show will go on, if all the stars align. “We are continuing to do season three, and we all wish to do a season four, and I would love to do that if the time is right and if that’s what everyone agrees on,” she said. “I don’t know if I would do another film, but I would love to do another season. I think that would be what we would all agree on.” Just because Cyrus doesn’t want to return to the big screen as the double-life-leading Hannah doesn’t mean she’s through with movies. In fact, Cyrus is already gearing up to film a Nicholas Sparks movie this summer . Sparks specifically wrote the screenplay and a novel with Miley in mind. “You never really hear that the movie was written before the book,” Cyrus said. “It’s kind of a weird way to do that. But he wrote the movie before he wrote the book, and he wrote it with me in mind.” Though very little details have been revealed about the film, we do know that it revolves around love and family, topics Cyrus knows a little something about. “I’ve always been lucky to play parts that relate to me — and this doesn’t at all,” Cyrus said of her upcoming role. “I have my issues, but not as bad as this chick! I am happy to play someone who is just kind of out there and not someone that I am like.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘iCarly,’ ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year,’ Miley Cyrus and more also took home Blimps. By Jocelyn Vena The Jonas Brothers at the 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images They may have only been up for one award on Saturday night (March 28) at the Kids’ Choice Awards, but the night definitely belonged to the Jonas Brothers . A who’s who of teen stars were on hand at the 22nd annual awards show, hosted by Dwayne Johnson . The first award of the night, Favorite TV Show, was handed out by Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson and went to “iCarly.” “We wouldn’t be up here without you guys,” the show’s star, Miranda Cosgrove , told the super-excited crowd. Tons of celebs made appearances throughout the night, like Favorite Male Singer winner Jesse McCartney , Will Ferrell, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Jackman, all of whom got slimed, a time-honored KCA tradition. Although she wasn’t there to claim her Blimp, Selena Gomez won Favorite TV Actress for her work on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Keeping the girl power alive were the Pussycat Dolls , who didn’t win any Blimps but did perform “When I Grow Up” and their version of the “Slumdog Millionaire” anthem “Jai Ho.” Vanessa Hudgens , Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu and Ashley Tisdale were there to accept the Favorite Movie award for “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” Hudgens also took home a Blimp for Favorite Movie Actress. “A quick shout-out to Lucas [Grabeel] and Monique [Coleman]. We love you guys,” Efron said to his missing castmates while accepting the award. “Thank you all for embracing ‘HSM.’ We love you guys.” It was cute-boy overload as Efron presented the award for Favorite Music Group to the Jonas Brothers. “Thank you guys so much,” Joe said, before Nick added, “It’s been amazing. We’ve enjoyed the ride thoroughly.” More swooning ensued when “Gossip Girl” heartthrob Chace Crawford announced the JoBros’ performance. They rocked the crowd and made girls scream when they performed “S.O.S.” and “Burnin’ Up.” There was also love for “Twilight,” which won for Favorite Book. “This is awesome,” Taylor Lautner told the crowd. “Stephenie Meyer wanted to tell you guys ‘thank you.’ And I can tell you firsthand you guys are gonna love [the 'New Moon' movie].” Leonardo DiCaprio won the most serious award of the night, taking home the Big Green Help Blimp for inspiring people to be more proactive in saving the environment. And although Miley Cyrus was up for a slew of awards, she only managed to win one for Favorite Female Singer. While hugging her Blimp and fighting back tears, she said, “I really thought I was going to lose.” The night came to an end with Johnson fulfilling his assigned task of finding the right key to make the volcanic slime pyramid explode. What was that key? The Jonas Brothers singing “Lovebug.” Other big winners of the night included “American Idol” for Favorite Reality Show, Will Smith for Favorite Movie Actor and past KCA host Jack Black for Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie. ‘Hannah Montana’ star will play ‘The Climb’ at 44th annual awards ceremony. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus Photo: AP Photo/Matt Rourke Miley Cyrus is embracing her country roots — her dad is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, after all — by performing at the 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 5 in Las Vegas. The singer will sing her hit “The Climb,” according to People . The show will be hosted by Reba McEntire, and country acts Lady Antebellum, John Rich, Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson are also scheduled to perform. Miley’s friend Taylor Swift, who performed her song “Fifteen” with the “Hannah Montana” star at the Grammy Awards, is nominated for Top Female Vocalist, Video of the Year for “Love Story” and Album of the Year for Fearless. “The Climb” is on the soundtrack to “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” Cyrus debuted the song at a Disney event back in September and also sang it at the Kids’ Inaugural concert in January. In a recent interview, Cyrus talked about how she wanted to focus more on her country roots. “In the movie, my character goes back to Nashville,” she said, Just Jared reports. “The soundtrack is all about Nashville, and that’s where I’m from, that’s my roots. I think that’s a lot of the reason I am who I am.” The movie features a dance called the “Hoedown Throwdown,” which has her fans jumping on the country bandwagon. “I have all these different kids at events who say, ‘Oh yeah, I know the “Hoedown Throwdown” now,’ and that’s really cool that they’re getting to dance to it,” she said. “In the theaters, I think if they danced to it, it would be kind of cool.” Related Artists Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus Says, ‘I Can’t Be Hannah Montana Forever’

‘I can’t do this when I’m 30,’ teen star says By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus Photo: Gabriel Bouys/ AFP/ Getty Images Miley Cyrus has always been vocal about the future of Hannah Montana. So vocal that sometimes she’s gotten herself into trouble. In the past she’s said that the show might be in its last season , but then said she hopes it goes on for “as long as it can.” Now, with the “Hannah Montana” movie set for release next month, Miley is saying that just because she’s made a film version of the show doesn’t mean she’s ready to put the show to bed. “This movie was never meant to be the end of Hannah Montana,” she told Billboard . “The thing is, a lot of people put where the show’s future lays in my hands — and it’s not up to me.” The 16-year-old superstar is also quick to point out that she isn’t ready to say good-bye to her alter ego. “It’s up to Disney and whether they want more episodes,” she said. “And we hope that they do.” Although reps for Disney tell Billboard that they are “retaining the option to renew the show for a fourth season,” Cyrus expressed her concerns about getting too old to play the TV pop star role. “It’s just an honor for people to be able to relate to me and my music — and not so much the character anymore,” she said. “I can’t be Hannah Montana forever. I have to have something after this. I can’t do this when I’m 30.” She also addressed the fact that her busy schedule makes it hard for her to settle down and live her life, but as long as she enjoys what she’s doing, it doesn’t bother her. “This is, like, the first time I’ve seen all my friends in seven months,” Miley said. “It’s hard, man. With all the stuff that goes on with this business, I only want to do something if I absolutely love it.” Related Videos MTV News’ Headlines Of The Day Related Artists Miley Cyrus

Russell Brand Teases Miley Cyrus For Writing Memoir

‘She’s only been alive half an hour,’ the ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ funnyman says. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Russell Brand and MTV News’ Josh Horowitz ride in an elevator Photo: MTV News You might say Russell Brand is as addicted to controversy as he once was to heroin and sex. Sometimes that affinity for turbulence blows up in his face (don’t show up to work the day after 9/11 dressed as Osama bin Laden and expect to keep your job). Other times, however, the British comedian’s talent for the well-crafted dustup shines through. Such was the case when Brand stopped by the MTV News offices to promote the publication of his memoir “My Booky Wook” and initiated a hilarious war of words with 16-year-old Miley Cyrus, who also has a new memoir on the bookshelves. ” Miley Cyrus ?” he said when informed of “Miles to Go,” the teen’s contribution to the literary world. “She’s only been alive half an hour. What’s she going to say: ‘The womb was warm’?” Brand’s own memoir tends toward the raunchy and scandalous. Chapter titles include “Umbilical Noose,” “Teacher’s Whisky” and “Let’s Not Tell Our Mums.” His stories recount such formative experiences as the time his father introduced him to prostitutes on a trip to Asia and how he once got into a naked, drug-fueled brawl with a stripper. That is the stuff of autobiographical gold, Brand maintains, not the reflections of a Disney personality who just got her driver’s license. As he traveled up and down the MTV elevators with Movies Editor Josh Horowitz, the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star kept inventing lines he suspected were in Cyrus’ book. ” ‘It’s nice in there,’ ” Brand said of Miley’s in-the-womb musings. ” ‘There’s all sorts of fluids.’ ” Brand’s bottom line? “That’s not a book,” he said. “I don’t buy it. It’s a very short story. Anything that’s been written by a sperm and an ovum–it’s too short.” When he wasn’t busy initiating a tongue-in-cheek literary smackdown, Brand dished some inside details about his upcoming Judd Apatow comedy, “Get Him to the Greek.” The movie is a spin-off of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and will follow Brand’s character, rock star Aldous Snow, as he travels from London to perform a gig in Los Angeles. “He’s gone back on crack and heroin, so it makes him difficult to look after,” Brand said of Snow. “Like a lot of drug addicts, he’s a pain in the ass.” Though original star Jason Segel most likely won’t appear in the new film, he will be making an active contribution to it. “Jason’s written some songs for Aldous Snow to sing,” Brand revealed. “Jason’s really cool with writing songs.” Jonah Hill will be the only other actor returning from the original cast, but Brand is promising a host of new Hollywood stars will be joining in. “Really famous ones,” he teased, “but I’m not allowed to say yet, because I always blurt things out too quickly. But people who you go, ‘He’s in it?!’ ” Like Brad Pitt? “Better!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Cyrus had said she’d ‘ruin’ the rockers because they wouldn’t meet with her at the Grammys. By Jocelyn Vena Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Photo: John Shearer/WireImage.com A week after Miley Cyrus shared with the world her plans to “ruin” Radiohead after they snubbed the young starlet at the Grammy Awards, the band has responded to the singer’s threat. Last week, Miley went on the radio and shared an anecdote about how excited she was about finally having the chance to meet Radiohead at the Grammys — only to be told the guys “don’t really do that.” So, she said, “I left, ’cause I was so upset. I wasn’t going to watch [them perform]. Stinkin’ Radiohead! I’m gonna ruin them. I’m going to tell everyone.” A rep for the band commented to Us Weekly, “When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement.” The Miley beef is just one of a few feuds the rockers find themselves in these days. Kanye West also has a bone to pick with the band. During his “VH1 Storytellers” taping , West told the audience he, too, was snubbed by the British band at the Grammys. He was so mad that when Radiohead performed, “I sat the f— down.” So, much in Kanye’s style, the guys addressed the beef rumors on their Web site, Dead Air Space . “Wish us all a safe journey,” Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke blogged. “If you still like us and you’re not one of those people I have managed to offend by doing nothing, xx.” [This story was originally published on 03.12.09 at 4:39 p.m. ET] Related Artists Radiohead Miley Cyrus
